At Connect Fund, we believe cost should not stand in the way of accessing the gender-affirming care you need, so we help fund healthcare costs not included in provincial coverage.
How to get funding from Connect Fund
- Register with us to let us know you need support
(Signing up on our website does not guarantee funding.) - Our team will send out an application when we have capacity and funding available
(We are currently receiving hundreds of requests for support. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.) - Once an application is approved, the Connect Fund pays our partner care provider directly.
(We do not send funds to individuals, but instead partner with trusted health care providers so that you can receive care without worrying about the bill.)
Funding amounts
Because of our size and resources, we provide small grants between $100 and $2,000. These amounts allow us to reach as many people as possible with the donations we receive.
We know that some important procedures, such as facial feminization surgery, cost much more and that Connect Fund will not be able to help you access this service. This does not mean we do not support these types of care — only that our current funding is limited.
What we fund
Our grants are designed to reduce inequities in access to services, especially those that are often not covered by health systems. Right now, we are able to provide funding for:
- Virtual medical care
- Hormone prescriptions and medication costs
- Laser hair removal on the face
- Voice training and therapy
- Transition-related surgeries
- Fertility services
- Psychotherapy
Our current partners include:
Foria Clinic • Bluebird Laser • GraceMed Plastic Surgery • Affirming Care Pharmacy • Women’s College Hospital Transition-Related Surgery Program • Mount Sinai Hospital Fertility Clinic
